Boarding/Day Care

If you need a safe and friendly place to leave your pets during the day or when you go out of town, bring them to Ross Bridge Animal Hospital where there are compassionate pet lovers and qualified animal caretakers that you know and trust. Offering boarding and day care services to pet owners in Hoover, Homewood, Birmingham, Bessemer, and Shannon, Alabama, we provide a home away from home where your pets will be treated like family.

At Ross Bridge Animal Hospital, we maintain separate boarding areas for dogs and cats, ensuring that each animal will have a pleasant, comfortable stay. Our indoor climate controlled kennel houses both large and small dogs, and we have runs that will accommodate more than one of your compatible canines. Several times a day, each boarded dog has supervised outdoor time in our fenced-in yard where they can play and take care of business. Our day care provides either half days (4 hours of play) or full days (8 hours of play) to both day boarders and overnight boarders. Day care attendees get to socialize and play with other dogs as well as interact with our day care staff.

Our feline friends are kept in a separate, cozy environment away from the barking of our canine friends. We have special cat condos that give kitties access to multiple units so that they can explore. They also have a perch at the top of the condo for times when they want to rest or have down time.

We feed all kennel guests a specialized diet for GI health, however, we allow owners to bring their pets’ own food and treats from home. Our staff monitors the appetite and urination/bowel movements of each pet guest, and our veterinarian will be alerted if any health problems are noted. We want your pets to be healthy and happy while they are in our care.

All dogs staying at Ross Bridge Animal Hospital must be current on rabies, distemper/parvo, canine influenza, and bordetella vaccines. We also highly recommend the leptospirosis vaccine. All boarding cats must be current on rabies, FVRCP, and bordetella vaccines. We also highly recommend the feline leukemia vaccine.

Because space in our boarding kennel can fill up quickly, we ask that you make reservations in advance, especially around the holidays. If you choose to have extra services done, such as bathing or grooming, while your pet is in our care, please let us know at the time you schedule your appointment. Call us at 205-208-0301 to plan your pet’s stay-cation, or for pricing information.

Our mission is to promote and facilitate pet health, wellness and comfort.
