Surgery
Ross Bridge Animal Hospital provides veterinary surgical services for companion pets in the vicinity of Hoover, Homewood, Birmingham, Bessemer, and Shannon, Alabama. Our qualified and experienced veterinarian routinely performs a variety of soft tissue surgeries such as spays, neuters, mass removals, exploratory celiotomies (laparotomies) for neoplasia treatment and diagnosis, cystotomies for removal of bladder stones, third eyelid ectomies, gastrotomies/enterotomies for foreign object retrieval, and gastropexies to prevent gastric dilatation and volvulus. We refer all of our orthopedic surgeries to Veterinary Specialists of Birmingham and/or to Auburn University College of Veterinary Medicine..
If surgery is found to be necessary for your pet, you can rest assured that our experienced doctor and staff will take the utmost care of your pet and treat it as our own. At Ross Bridge Animal Hospital, we understand that anesthesia is scary, especially when an older pet needs a procedure. To ensure your pet’s safety we recommend blood work prior to each surgery so that we can screen for any abnormalities or conditions that may be problematic. We also monitor vital signs throughout all stages of surgery and recovery.
Whether your pet is of the age to be spayed or neutered, or needs a different surgical procedure, Ross Bridge Animal Hospital is here for you and your pet. We are conveniently located in Hoover to serve pet owners living in Ross Bridge, Bluff Park, Lake Crest, Lake Cyrus, Trace Crossings, and Russet Woods communities.
